Two days and one night with full use of accomodation, trails and motocross track at the Pirinis Park is an awesome opportunity, but it was all at the mercy of the weather. We needed a small amount of rain, big time.
We had a dozen campers arrive along with a misty persperation from the heavens- the perfect combination for the days riding. Someone give me a Hallelujah!
Many of these kids are old hats at this now, so were safe to head off and hit the trails right away while others were still signing on or getting ready. By the time everyone was out there the food was on the table and would stay there the rest of both days, the only difference being what type it was, from fruit to baked ‘Zeti. It tastes better than it sounds.
Twice over during the period of our camp I took the riders who had opted for the one on one training out on the MX track, hooked them up with their own lap timer and worked through some pretty serious skills. There was nowhere to hide in a group that small.
The evening was more lively than the morning as you would expect, but once they got going, there was no stopping them. Even after we had planned to finish at 2pm there was still energy left so we gave them one last moto and called an end to Pirini camp number two. And yes, we did get some more of that sweet wetness the second morning as well. It just doesn’t get much better.
